sad, sad day

it’s a sad day here for me in galway. i’m finally admitting that i don’t think i’ll be able to stay here for the summer. i was actually able to find a job at a killer hotel but i wasn’t able to get a work visa. needless to say, i’m pretty bummed.

i’m trying to keep my mind full of the amazing things i will be able to do with a summer in california. i can either live in san diego and work at the hotel i miss so much. all i need to find is a place to live.

or i can live in northern california for the first time in nearly two years. i’ll be able to see all the friends i’ve missed so much and experience wine country and san francisco for the first time since being 21. i also was planning to take summer school which will allow me to graduate in spring 2012 rather than take an extra semester.

there’s just so much to think about. including changing my ticket. if anyone knows how i may be able to get a work visa in ireland, please oh please let me know. otherwise, prepare yourselves for a summer in the california sun on this blog.

if you’re lucky enough to have california to go home to, you’re lucky enough

  1. I don’t know if you’ve looked into this or if it will help you in your situation, but BUNAC helps full-time students & recent graduates get work visas for up to 12 months in Ireland. If you haven’t yet, you might want to check out their website and see if they may be able to help you! Good luck!

    • thanks so much jessica. i looked into bunac but unfortunately i had to have applied while in america. but the good news is that i can keep this option open for when i graduate. thank you for trying to help, you’re a doll.

  2. I’m sorry to hear this news as well. Def a bummer but you are lucky enough to spend a whole semester in Ireland, you are lucky enough. We have a spare bedroom w/ private bath at our house in El Cajon!!! I think rent is between $600-$700/month which includes all utilities. We have a hot tub and pool!!!!
